Celebrating Love, documenting raw emotions and capturing authentic moments
Love Photography for Unconventional Weddings
Emotional + Raw + Authentic
Are you planning your wedding your way?
The way you want to, playing by your rules?
A wedding that reflects who you are as a couple and your story?
We really love working with creative couples that want to do things differently (yay!), the way they truly want to, not the way they are supposed to.
We are all about personal and offbeat celebrations that mark the beginning of a new chapter of your lives, a beginning that reflects your story.
Your love story and your wedding are unique and that’s exactly the way we treat them and see them through the lenses of our cameras.
We believe in real connections and in the imperfect perfection of genuine moments, we always try to build a relationship with our couples before the weddings, so that they can be more relaxed in front of the camera and feel free to show their emotions.
We want you to just be yourself, enjoy this special day with your loved one, your family and your friends, have fun and feel as comfortable as possible!
We won’t ask you to sit still, pose and smile at the camera. We won’t turn your wedding into a photoshoot. This is a love story that is happening in real time.
Our photography style is relaxed, authentic, emotional and organic and involves taking natural, candid images that capture your emotions, connection and love. No posed, staged, cheesy photos!
We are a good fit if you love:
- raw, authentic and meaningful moments
- living life to its fullest
- unconventional weddings
- true emotions
- photos that really reflect you as a couple
- connecting as “friends” and not looking for vendors only
- our style – and it resonates with your own vision for your day
We truly love unique, intimate and nature-inspired weddings, the ones that are relaxed and informal, with a touch of boho, botanical or gipsy style.
We actually decided to organise our wedding as a picnic brunch in the wonderful Tuscany with traditional Italian folk dancers. An intimate ceremony in a small rural church, a gospel choir singing after we said “I do”, a brunch with pancakes, hay bales and blankets on the grass… an unforgettable day!
We are passionate about authenticity and genuine moments and we specialize in storytelling. This means that we don’t capture the key moments only. Every moment is important to us and there could be stories that you could have missed while you were enjoying the day: the slight gesture of a hand, your friends laughing, guests’ reactions during the ceremony, your mum crying tears of joy… all the in-between moments.
Our goal is to capture your day in a natural way, like storytellers, so that by looking at your photos you can experience all your emotions once again, you can feel them, breathe them… Because we strongly believe that photography isn’t just about providing you with pictures meant to raise memories, but to raise those emotions too. We want you to not only be able to see what that day looked like but how it felt.
That’s what really matters.
We don’t take couples away for hours while the guests are enjoying the reception, having fun, eating hors d’oeuvres and drinking your champagne. We surely understand that you want to spend the day with them! It will be more about giving you the opportunity to spend some time together than anything else.
We believe that your wedding, your idea of fun, the time that you want to spend with family and friends should inspire the photography, rather than the photography dictating what happens on your wedding day and its timeline. We will be there to tell the real story of the day, not to stage the celebration!
Less poses to honour the real you and your day.
We are Sara and Alessandro, a husband and wife duo based in Italy, near Tuscany and the wonderful Cinque Terre. We are two lovers, lovers of Life, lovers of Love, who live loudly and laugh boldly.
I (Sara) have always been interested in different cultures and wanted to get to know people from different corners of the world so I decided to become a translator and interpreter. In 2009, while I was looking for a universal language, I met Alessandro at my first photography class. Photography played a big role in our love!
Alessandro got his first camera when he was 6 and started to capture real life moments while travelling all around Europe with his parents, spending hours with his father in his darkroom. He then fell in love with Theater Photography, and some years ago he found in Wedding & Family Photography the real emotions he was looking for.
Three years ago, after a very serious injury, I had to spend almost 24 months in bed. I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t sit, I couldn’t move. That’s when the idea of Meraki Photography began to sparkle. I was there, lying on the bed and all I could do was look at old pictures. The ones of the people I loved and of the beautiful and ordinary moments I wanted to go back to. So I suddendly realized that I wanted to give others what helped me the most: happy memories to cherish.
During those difficult months, I re-discovered the importance of the small things in life, like having the possibility to even get dressed by myself, to dance, to hold Alessandro’s hand while walking…
And we understood we wanted to show others the importance of Love, which literally saved us, and of all the beauty that surrounds us everyday. What if you start looking at the beauty you have in your life?
That’s where Meraki Photography comes from. It’s a love story, it’s a story of love, hope and beauty.
We thought of the name Meraki because we have a strong passion for Greece (we went there on our honeymoon too!) and because that’s exactly how we work: with our souls and with all our hearts.
We can’t wait to see what awesome ideas you come up with to make your wedding unique!
Tell us all about your dreams, your wedding and all the details!
We’d love to connect!
